Cooking with a Louisiana Native

Once a galley kitchen with a garage door at the end of it, MOTIF reconfigured the layout and moved the garage door, removed a wall and opened the kitchen to the adjacent living space,  The couple who lives in this cottage-like home has a great place to cook and entertain friends. These very social homeowners can now host parties and entertain their friends and family well with the newly designed layout.  A love for cooking inspired the design of the wall above the range.  The cabinets were built by hand by the previous owner who was a professional carpenter.  In the interest of honoring his life, we kept the boxes and reconfigured the layout while adding some new custom touches that look like they were always there.

New Life to a Living Room

MOTIF transformed a standard living room with beige carpet and beige walls into this artful and inviting room.  Adding moody color and texture to the walls, a cozy chair, some textured and patterned pillows, a few plants, a new rug, side tables and a piece for storage, this once baren room is now a charming place to hang out.

A New Place to Rest Your Weary Head

Built in the 1960's in Apple Orchard Manors, this home was ready for an update.  The owners, recently married, wanted a ensuite bedroom and bathroom.   This organic, cottage like room is now a place to enjoy day to day life while being surrounded by the colors and textures they love most. A successful primary bedroom and bathroom remodel thrilled our clients.

A Grand Gesture

MOTIF was asked to remodel this lmaster suite in this 1990's home.  The remodel involved removal of architectural elements such as eyebrow arches and angled walls, a dramatic floor to ceiling, linear fireplace was added to separate a space called "the sanctuary" by the owner - what became an understated sitting room for reading and prayer.

The Heart of the Home

A custom home built in the 1990's and located in the Polo Reserve is just a stones throw away from the historic polo field.  This California based couple moved to Littleton and the owners hired MOTIF refresh every room in the house.  A great room, study, master suite, reading room, guestroom, custom his and hers closets, dining room, kitchen refresh, laundry room update, a basement entertaining space and a home gym were all included.  Integrating the owner's furnishings from a home in California, with new design elements create a lovely and elegant backdrop for this retired couple to live..  

A slice of a fallen red wood tree in northern California was the inspiration for this lovely custom coffee table -- the centerpiece of this grand room.  2 story high ceilings, a large wall of windows, an overlooking balcony and collections of items from world travels provide plenty of topics for interesting conversation as the owners gather here with friends.

A builder bathroom with a sunk-in tub, an open floor plan and 1990's finishes was appointed with a new layout with stylish architecture with hidden storage, a his and hers vanity, a new shower enclosure, wainscoting, molding and custom drapes.  A bright paint color and new piece of art add a pop of fun.

Littleton Living Room Remodel

A retired couple moving from California hired MOTIF Design Solutions to transform this living room into "a space that has life" in their words.  They asked for a creative way to display their beautiful collection of European glassware, wanted an update to the fireplace, requested removal of unnecessary columns built into the room and wanted an overall light and airy feel with classic and timeless design elements.

Ken Caryl Kitchen

The original kitchen in this house was only accessible to the garage, laundry and a small hallway into the great room.  It was very compartmentalized compared to any other rooms in the house.  We moved the kitchen from the back of the house to the front of the house in order to enlarge it, take advantage of a high ceiling in what was an unused dining room.  We added beams, a beautiful chandelier and a combination of custom and semi custom cabinetry.  The hood was custom as well.  What a lovely change it made as it was already connected to an outdoor eating area through the French doors.
